About Amir
Amir Shah is a 18 year old Freshman at the University of Maryland, College Park majoring in Aerospace Engineering. At the University, Amir has taken part in building an racing a fully autonomous hovercraft, helped launch a weather balloon to 80,000 feet and gather information and pictures on its way up, and joined the school’s AIAA chapter. Amir comes from Springbrook high school; Springbrook is a signature school of information technology, international studies and the International Baccalaureate program. Amir is involved in the school’s information technology program, part of the Academy of Information Technology, and enrolled in many Advanced Placement courses. Amir is also involved in many extra curricular activities; He is the captain of the school’s debate team, a senior member and team leader on the school’s Botball robotics team, a founding member of the school’s ChemClub, project manager and founder of Springbrook’s Android Development Team, part of the cross country team, and also on the school’s tennis team. Amir would also like to start an IEEE club to work in congregation with the NoVA/DC chapter very soon.
