Are we all going to be obliterated by an alternate universe colliding with us?

New Scientist brings up on odd, and unheard of theory. (Although it wasn’t New Scientist that thought of it, just a person they quote)

We all probably have heard of the theory of parallel universes. Well, the theory used to that they don’t interact, and collide. However, new theories state that our universe could, at any moment, be collided into by a parallel one. This would, in turn result of the Earth getting completely, and utterly obliterated. Good news is that there is another possibility. We could all just die, and other “versions” of us move on in the “new” universe. Very odd theory
