Global warming. Whats really going on?

Wired News writes an interesting article on global warming. Here what the “experts” say. Just the important stuff since people ware too lazy to read two pages now days;
Tim Flannery:
All the climate modeling we’ve produced so far is deeply conservative.
What I’m seeing is trends in the real world that are running far, far ahead of what the computer models predict.
I do think that if we’re going to survive this first threat to global civilization—and it is the first big test of global civilization—we will need to put ourselves on a war footing.
Since the 1970s, we’ve known about wind power and photovoltaics; we’ve had geothermal and solar hot water systems. Why haven’t these technologies taken over the world? The reason is a lack of the use of market instruments.
Just play a little thought game: We’re 10 years out now; it’s 2016. Sea levels have started to rise quickly. And governments around the world are spending even more money than they are now in defending their low-lying areas. How much is the U.S. spending right now in New Orleans? Imagine that cost replicated right around the southern and eastern coast of the U.S. And partly on the West Coast, too.
My 2 Cents:
Its going to happen no matter what. We can just prolong it by inconveniencing ourselves. I say bring it on. Humans are innovative, and adaptive creatures. We’ll find a way to live with it whether it be now or later.
